Featuring baritone Anton Belov and pianist Wenwen Du, let your soul be stirred by the music of Schumann's Dichterliebe. A Poet's Love will also feature works by Rachmaninoff, Medtner, and Barvinsky.

Robert Schumann's "Dichterliebe" (“A Poet's Love") is one of the most cherished song cycles in the Romantic repertoire. Composed in 1840, Schumann's "Year of Song," this masterpiece sets the poetry of Heinrich Heine, weaving a poignant narrative of love, longing, and heartbreak. "Dichterliebe" consists of 16 songs that trace the arc of a romantic relationship, from the first stirrings of infatuation to the pain of unrequited love and the eventual acceptance of loss.
After the intermission, you will hear some of the most beautiful and virtuosic songs of Sergei Rachmaninoff and profoundly powerful songs of the persecuted Ukrainian composer Vasyl Barvinsky.
