Core players Sarah Larkin, Sarah Ryan, and Jen Rund have captivated audiences with their unique blend of folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, and country influences. Their organic sound enchants and uplifts, drawing listeners into the emotional landscapes of their music. The Real Sarahs first captured their original songs on their self-titled EP in 2013. Since then, they have released three subsequent albums showcasing their evolving sound, emotional honesty, and musical versatility. Their songs draw from personal experiences, life’s triumphs and challenges, and the beauty of human connection. A hallmark of The Real Sarahs is their live performance chemistry. Their shows blend humor, storytelling, and intimate musical moments, creating an atmosphere where audiences feel personally connected to the music. They have shared the stage with numerous folk and Americana artists, earning a loyal following along the West Coast and beyond. As a trio, Sarah Ryan, Sarah Larkin, and Jen Rund continue to grow creatively and have enjoyed expanding their ensemble to often include talented instrumental soloists like Candy Girard on fiddle and Emily Froberg (Charlie Musselwhite, Eric Lindell) on lead guitar, among others. Their music entertains and also inspires listeners to embrace vulnerability, empathy, and the power of storytelling. Known for her deep honey voice and literary lyrics, award winning Bay Area author turned singer-songwriter, Zoe FitzGerald Carter, brings a unique blend of Americana, jazz, blues, folk and rock. “Zoe sings with personality & self-assurance,” writes John Apice of Americana Highways. "Her tone has authority, experience & character and she conceives poignant, well-distinguished tales with finesse.” The title track of Zoe’s latest album, Before the Machine, inspired by memories of a pre-smart phone world, won first place in the Corpus Christi Songwriters Contest and the music video premiered on Americana UK and placed in the New Zealand and Vienna film festivals. Another song from the album, “Let’s Just Stay Friends,” was awarded second place from the International Acoustic Music Awards. In addition to writing and performing music, Zoe teaches memoir and songwriting and has been on the faculty of the Oahu Writers Retreat for the last ten years. Her new album, Chaos By Design, comes out in the fall of 2026.
