The Real Halloween - Regenerative Community Celebration

On Saturday, October 31, Golden Coast Mead invites you to Emerald Village Oasis in Vista for a Halloween built around food, tradition, and community — not crowded streets and plastic decor.

Golden Coast Mead is Southern California's first meadery crafting the ancient alcoholic libation made from honey, mead, the way it's been made for centuries — wild, seasonal, and deeply tied to the land it comes from. The Real Halloween is their offering to North County and beyond's regenerative community: an evening built around real ingredients, real ritual, and the honey that makes it all possible. Mead flows through both halves of the night — a tasting flight for the adults in the family crowd, a full pairing menu for The Hallow Table.

🍬 Exclusive Trick-or-Treating — Decorated stations across the EVO grounds with carefully selected treats from participating partners.

🎃 Costume Parade — Show off your family's Halloween creativity before trick-or-treating begins.

🍕 Pizza Party — An organic pizza experience featuring Cucina Migrante. A make-your-own station and gelato bar are available for separate purchase. Gluten-Sensitive and Dairy Free options available.

🎶 Live Music & 🥁 Drumming — A festive soundtrack, plus live drumming and dancing with Sankofa.

🎭 Games & Kids' Activities — Interactive fun designed to keep kids moving, creating, and playing.

🌿 Ecology, Herbs, Bees & Pollinators — Meet local collaborators and learn about the living world around us.

🕯️ The Ancestors & Halloween Traditions Altar — A community altar honoring those who've passed and the many traditions of remembrance and harvest behind Halloween. Bring a small photo and/or memento/altar object to add, if you'd like.

🍯 Golden Coast Mead Tasting Flight — Sip your way through a curated flight from your hosts at Golden Coast Mead while the kids explore. A perfect introduction to mead for the mead-curious.

As the sun disappears, EVO transforms. The Hallow Table is Golden Coast Mead's signature Halloween dinner — an adults-only (21+) evening for just 40 guests, where a multi-course meal by Cucina Migrante is paired course-by-course with the meadery's own honey wines. Add fire, tarot, shamanism, and music, and this becomes something more than a party. It's a feast.

🍽️ Chef-Driven Dinner — A multi-course menu featuring organic, pasture-raised meats, grass-fed dairy, sourdough, and local produce. Please note: due to the nature of this menu, we're unable to accommodate dietary restrictions.

🍯 GOLDEN COAST MEAD PAIRING Every course is paired with a select mead from Golden Coast Mead. Rather than treating mead as simply a beverage alongside dinner, the pairing is designed to make the mead part of the culinary experience. Potential pairings include:

The Atmosphere: Firelight. Harvest. Shadows. Mystery. Ancestors. The threshold between worlds. Come dressed for Halloween — elegant, dark, romantic, theatrical, otherworldly. Your interpretation is up to you.

So the grown-ups can stay after dark. Supervised on-site care from 6:30–10:30 PM with games, a movie, puzzles, and cozy Halloween fun.

Parents must remain on-site at EVO during Little Hollows. Capacity limited — advance registration required.
