Calgary’s Lonnie James is probably best known as of one of Canada’s best punk modern rock drummers. His explosive and tasteful style has been tapped from everybody from Montreal legends The Nils, Vancouver punks D.O.A,Toronto cult heroes The Lawn to Halifax’s grunge pop heroes Superfriendz. But there’s always been more than one beat to Lonnie’s creative kit and his talent as a songwriter cannot be underestimated. His latest venture “ModernFolkRevolution” is a DIY project featuring 10 tracks that drip with a restrained elegance ebbing around paisley-tinged lo-fi sonic harmonies and also mark a path of a mature songwriter in full stride
