Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German pastor and theologian who was killed in a Nazi concentration camp after taking part in resistance movements and a plot to K*ll Hitler. A recent film ("Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Spy, Assassin") attempts to tell his story. Who was he — really — and what did he believe? In this lecture, Bonhoeffer scholar Dr. Michael Lukens (Professor Emeritus at St. Norbert College) will offer a more complete picture of Bonhoeffer's life and work, which has inspired and challenged thinkers and activists across the political and theological spectrum.
