❤️ ONE LAST THROW DOWN. ONE LAST TIME AS YOUR DIRECTORS. ❤️
January 30th will be a bittersweet night for Rachel and I. It will officially be our last Throw Down running North Star Cornhole.
For almost three years, Rach and I have poured EVERYTHING we possibly could into building North Star Cornhole into what it is today. The countless hours, late nights, early mornings, planning, setting up, tearing down, and everything in between. We gave this club everything we had, and we wouldn’t change a single second of it.
But here’s the thing…
WE didn’t make North Star Cornhole what it is today. YOU DID.
Every. Single. One. Of. You. ❤️
And when I say that North Star Cornhole has become one of the BEST cornhole clubs out there, I don’t just mean in Minnesota. I mean in the WORLD. And I truly believe that.
Not because of how many tournaments we’ve hosted, how many players have shown up, or how big we’ve grown.
It’s because of the PEOPLE.
We’ve watched kids grow into young adults right in front of our eyes. We’ve watched friendships form, families come together, and people find a place where they belong.
We’ve met some of the greatest people we will EVER know. People who started out as strangers, became friends, and somewhere along the way became FAMILY.
And that’s what makes this so hard.
Because North Star Cornhole has never just been about throwing bags. It’s been about the laughs, the hugs, the late nights, the memories, the friendly trash talk, and the people who make you look forward to the next tournament.
There is NOTHING like this community. NOTHING.
And to be able to call all of you our family is something Rachel and I will cherish for the rest of our lives.
❤️ A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE FARIBAULT AMERICAN LEGION POST 43! ❤️
We absolutely cannot make this post without recognizing the incredible people at the Faribault Legion.
From the moment you welcomed us through your doors, you treated us like we belonged there. You opened your facility to us, embraced our crazy cornhole family, and allowed us to turn your building into something so much more than just a place to host tournaments.
You allowed us to call the Faribault Legion HOME.
And that means more to us than you’ll ever know.
You’ve put up with our long nights, packed tournaments, bags flying everywhere, and all the craziness that comes with North Star Cornhole. 😂
But through it all, you’ve continued to welcome us with open arms.
Having a place where people know they can show up, feel welcome, see familiar faces, and enjoy something they love is a HUGE part of what makes a club successful.
You didn’t just give North Star Cornhole a place to play. You gave our cornhole family a place to call home.
To everyone at the Faribault Legion, THANK YOU for believing in us, supporting us, and being such an incredible part of our journey.
Rachel and I will forever be grateful for everything you’ve done for us and this community. ❤️
With that being said, after January 30th, Rachel and I will officially be stepping away from running North Star Cornhole.
We are incredibly excited to leave this club in the hands of the Blauvelt family! We know how much they care about this community, and we couldn’t feel better about who will be carrying North Star forward.
And I want to make one thing very clear. After January 30th, this is THEIR club. They have every right to make whatever changes they feel are best for North Star Cornhole and its future. We hope everyone gives them the same love, support, and respect that you’ve given us over these last almost three years.
And no, this isn’t goodbye! You’re still going to see us throwing bags at tournaments here and there. We’re not disappearing!
But it’s time for us to take a step back.
It’s time to spend more weekends with our kids. It’s time to focus on our family and the moments that we can’t get back.
As much as we love this community, our kids are only young once. And after giving so much of ourselves to North Star, it’s time to give more of that time back to them.
I also want to give a HUGE thank you to every single person who has ever helped us set up boards, tear down after a long night, clean up, move tables, carry equipment, or simply ask, “What can I do to help?”
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THOSE LITTLE THINGS HAVE MEANT TO US.
Some nights, after hours and hours of running tournaments, those helping hands meant more than you could ever imagine. We noticed. We appreciated it. And we will NEVER forget it.
To everyone who has ever walked through the doors of a North Star Cornhole event, whether you came once or you’ve been with us since day one…
THANK YOU. FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for supporting our crazy ideas. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for the friendships, the memories, the laughs, and even the headaches along the way. 😂
Most importantly, thank you for allowing Rachel and me to be part of YOUR family.
We hope that when people look back at the time we spent running North Star Cornhole, they don’t remember us for the tournaments we ran or the brackets we built.
We hope they remember that we cared. That we gave it everything we had. And that we did our absolute best to make everyone feel like they belonged.
So, on January 30th, we’re going to run ONE LAST THROW DOWN!
One last night behind the director’s table. One last night doing what we’ve loved doing with the people we’ve grown to love so much.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Not because it’s our last tournament, but because we’d love one more night surrounded by the family that made all of this worth it.
From Rachel and I, WE LOVE YOU ALL! ❤️
It’s been one hell of a ride.
Almost three years. Countless memories. Lifelong friendships. One incredible family.
Thank you for EVERYTHING, North Star Cornhole. ⭐❤️
