Get ready to eat, drink and dance the night away SAFELY while helping raise money to close the digital divide amongst girls of color.
The mural has become the most powerful art form in the age of COVID, social injustice and the demands for equity in our nation, and has been a staple of the landscape, culture and identity of Old East Austin for decades. This year Latinitas is taking on the issues of 2021 the same way it has since 2002: By closing the digital divide for Austin’s most unrepresented communities!
This year, Latinitas will unveil a mural in the heart of East Austin to recognize the original advocate for closing the digital divide: Ana Sisnett, creator of Austin Free-Net and powerful advocate for free access to technology for all, earning her the title “Technomama!”The mural is being created by famed local muralists, Camen Rangel and J Muzacz.
Get ready to drink, dance and eat! Join us as we celebrate the female heroes of Austin’s communities of color for a fundraiser unlike any other - The Purple Party for Chica Power 2021!
