The Proper HustlersThe Proper Hustlers are a four piece band from the Greater Philadelphia Area. Drawing from eclectic influences, the band blends rock, jam, and jazz-fusion styles to create intricate, groove-centric songwriting. Coupling thought provoking lyrics with well-crafted instrumentals the band presents a sonic blend that is sure to have a little somethin-somethin for everyone. Featuring Joe Kenney on keys, Ethan Stauffer on guitar, Carter Fox on bass and Chris Fox on drums.
Jake Bracey
Singer and guitarist Jake Bracey has been a longtime bar musician. Playing cover after cover to drunken crowds wasn't feeding the creative flow, a valve opened and original music came forth. 2019 brought the debut EP of Jake Bracey & The Mountain Laurels. A project fronted by the aforementioned singer along with a rotating cast of friends and collaborators. Created in Everloft Studios in the Philadelphia suburbs, 2019's "Asleep On A Highway" was a testament to the bands signature sound; a boozy, folk-tinged brand of music for lovers of the sad but heartfelt song. This style can be heard in its latest evolution on the 2022 album "Grand Avenue Hymns."
Ethan Stauffer
A jack of all trades multi-instrumentalist described by his longtime cohorts as "...the glue that holds this band together" Ethan Stauffer is finally blowing off the dust from his massive pile of unreleased songs and bringing them into the public eye. Throughout highschool, college, and post-graduation he played guitar and keyboards in many Philadelphia bands including Cocktail Party Phenomenon, The Tisburys, Bits of Alan, Darlingtyn and more recently his personally fronted project The Proper Hustlers. Mixing a blend of singer-songwriter ethos with technically and theoretically lofty progressive rock, jazz, funk, and groove influences, the music is almost at odds with itself. The result is a genre-defying blend of heartfelt lyrics, clever melodies, deep, rich harmonic structures, and guitar playing that showcases his decades of experience. All of this can be heard in his latest 2023 EP "Do It."
