About this Event

This will be a great opportunity to bring together the higher education sector at a national event to highlight the sector’s role in Prevent.

We have put together an agenda which will cover a variety of topics and include speakers from Counter Terrorism Policing, The Home Office, Department for Education, Channel interventions teams and Academics. There will also be a dedicated Q&A session, this is an opportunity for delegates to engage directly with our experts.

The event will be a chance to discuss the current context of Prevent delivery in Higher Education, including the impact of the Independent Review of Prevent and the progression of the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Bill, and to gather thoughts from yourselves on what more support is required to help your provider effectively fulfil their responsibilities.

This event will be aimed a Prevent Leads in Higher Education and those who work in Student Support Services, to help support them fulfil their responsibilities under the Prevent Duty. In order to reach as many of the sector as possible, there will be two conference’s taking place. The first will be in Manchester and is being supported by the University of Central Lancashire. The second, will be in London and is being supported by Southbank University.

As there will only be 100 spaces available and we anticipate a high take up, please could you ensure that you book no more than two tickets per provider. To Note - This event is for Manchester. There will be a separate invite for the London conference.
