The Presence of God: A Retreat with the Dominican Friars

Join the Dominican Friars for a weekend retreat at Villa Maria Guadalupe, featuring conference talks given by the Friars, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass on Saturday and Sunday, times of silence, the opportunity for sacramental confession, and the opportunity to meet individually with a Friar.

Fr. James Brent, O.P., Fr. John Paul Kern, O.P., and Fr. Isaiah Beiter, O.P., will preach the retreat conferences and homilies.

We are tremendously grateful to the Sisters of Life for hosting us at Villa Maria Guadalupe.

The retreat begins with check-in from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday afternoon followed by dinner and a welcome social, and ends with a festive brunch beginning at 11:30am on Sunday.

The weekend, especially Saturday, will be a time and space to truly encounter the Lord, with lots of time for prayer and silence.

Registration details:

Registration will open at 10:00am on Friday, October 11, and will close on Monday, November 4 (or whenever tickets are sold out).

Please note that we have space for about 40 retreatants, and we expect to receive a high degree of interest in this retreat. Tickets will likely sell out well before the close of registration. If tickets are sold out, please opt for a waitlist ticket, and we will contact you if someone needs to cancel and a spot becomes available.

The cost of the retreat covers accommodations at the beautiful Villa Maria Guadalupe for the weekend as well as all meals (beginning with dinner on Friday night and ending with lunch/brunch on Sunday). Towels and bedding are provided. Please plan to bring whatever personal toiletries you might need.

Room assignments will be separated by gender. Each retreatant will have a private bedroom. Most rooms have a semi-private bathroom, shared with one other retreatant of the same gender. Some rooms share a common, dorm-style bathroom with 5 other retreatants of the same gender.

For married retreatants attending as a couple, we will assign both spouses to a single room with its own private bathroom.

You must be 18 years old or older to attend this retreat.

The Sisters are able to accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free diets, and they also have a small refrigerator and microwave available for retreatants who need to bring supplemental food or refrigerated Medic*tion.

It would be helpful if any special needs could be communicated by November 4th.

Transportation:

Parking is available at Villa Maria Guadalupe for those who plan to drive to the retreat.

Additionally, Villa Maria Guadalupe is a $20, 20-minute Uber or Lyft ride away from the Stamford train station, which is served by Amtrak and Metro-North.

Cancellations and Refunds:

Registration is non-transferable; only the person registered for the retreat can attend. We are able to offer a full refund, minus the Eventbrite fee, for any cancellations received by November 8th.

Last-minute illness: If you are feeling ill as the date of the retreat approaches, we ask that you please choose not to take part in this retreat. Please contact us as soon as possible; we will offer you a full refund and invite someone off of the waitlist to attend in your place.
