The Prague Film Awards 2026 will take place on February 20 at the Kino Světozor. In its 7th edition, PFA boasts a multifaceted programme of hand-picked independent films by cinematographers from the Czech Republic and abroad.
Serving as a platform where new talents showcase their films and cinephiles discover indie gems, the Prague Film Awards has become an annual meeting point. This year's programme
blends short and feature-length films of various genres and styles.
Breakups’ challenges in ‘Karaokiss’ (dir. Mila Ryngaert, Belgium), the cycle of life in ‘Being and Nothingness’ (dir. Jiwoo Kim, South Korea) and stories about love, sexuality and friendship in the coming-of-age film ‘Wetboy’ by Yentl Vlachos are some of this year's themes. The Festival ends with Melody C Roscher's ‘Bird in Hand’, a feature film that explores race, family, and identity in a darkly comedic and emotional way.
Aiming to support local cinema halls, the Prague Film Awards will take place once again at the art-cinema Kino Světozor in Prague's city centre. For one more year, the PFA opens its doors to a mixed audience, aiming to showcase the power of independent films and bring rising talents to the spotlight.
