The Doctrine and Covenants is filled with powerful questions and answers that shaped the Restoration of the gospel. Join Tamara Uzelac Hall, host of the podcast, as she leads a discussion with special guests Steven Harper, author of recently released book , and Janiece Johnson, author of recently released book .
Together, they will explore the role of asking questions in understanding scriptures and deepening our faith. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain new insights into the Doctrine and Covenants as we start the new study year.

Tamara Uzelac Hall grew up in Utah and Missouri, fully intending to get married and then raise 12 children while putting her husband through medical school. God had other plans. She went to college and received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from BYU. She served a mission and worked as a social worker until God steered her life in a completely different direction, becoming a full-time seminary and institute teacher instead. After she was set up on (another) blind date with a widower, which catapulted her into married life and became an insta-mom to two little girls. Currently, she and her husband are the parents to four girls and live in Utah. She is the host of the podcast and author of the books and .
Steven Harper is a Church history professor at BYU, the editor in chief of BYU Studies, and the executive editor of The Wilford Woodruff Papers. A prolific scholar, Harper has written numerous books and articles about church history including , , , and .
Dr. Janiece Johnson taught and researched as a historian and professor at BYU-Idaho and BYU, and is now an acquisitions director at Deseret Book. She is the co-author of (Deseret Book, 2016), general editor of The Mountain Meadows Massacre: Complete Legal Papers (University of Oklahoma, 2017), the award-winning (University of North Carolina Press, 2023), and her most recent book on in the series Themes in the Doctrine and Covenants (Maxwell Institute and Deseret Book, 2024).
