The Power of Nerves

A live, in-person workshop exploring the connection between voice, confidence, emotion and the nervous system.
What if nerves weren’t always the enemy?
What if understanding your nervous system could completely change the way you experience singing, performing, public speaking and self-expression?
Curious Voice: The Power of Nerves is a unique, science-informed and highly practical workshop designed for singers, performers, overthinkers, anxious presenters, neurodivergent creatives - and anyone who wants to use their voice more confidently under pressure.
Through guided exercises, group exploration, nervous system tools and voice work, we’ll explore:
• why the voice changes under pressure
• how emotion and performance interact
• the nervous system and stage fright
• confidence, prediction and self-monitoring
• singing with emotion without becoming overwhelmed
• performance, playfulness and “Super Play”
• regulation tools for voice, confidence and expression
• how safety alongside skill can transform performance experiences
This is not about “fixing” yourself or becoming fearless.
It’s about understanding why your body responds the way it does, and learning how to work with yourself rather than against yourself.
Whether you sing on stage, speak in meetings, avoid being heard, overthink performances, or simply want to reconnect with confidence and expression in a supportive space… this workshop is for you.
No perfection required. No advanced singing experience needed. Just curiosity.
✨ Expect:
• practical, interactive exercises
• science-backed insights explained accessibly
• a warm, supportive atmosphere
• real-world tools you can take away and use immediately
• plenty of laughs, exploration and lightbulb moments along the way
Safety alongside skill for singers, speakers and performers.
Spaces are limited to help keep the workshop interactive and supportive.
