The Power of Civic Connection
About this Event
Every great civic change starts with relationships.
PLTI-KC’s annual Civic Gathering brings parent leaders together with people from across Kansas City who have knowledge, relationships and resources to share—and who are equally interested in learning from the lived expertise parents bring to the room.
The evening is intentionally designed to make it easier to move beyond small talk and toward real conversation and meaningful connection. Through thoughtfully curated tables, conversation prompts and opportunities to connect around shared interests, we’ll create space for people to meet someone they might not otherwise encounter, exchange ideas, discover opportunities for collaboration and strengthen the relationships that make civic leadership possible.
For PLTI-KC parent leaders, it’s an opportunity to expand the networks that can support where their leadership goes next. For our community guests, it’s an opportunity to meet parents who are already leading in schools, neighborhoods, organizations and communities—and to listen, learn and discover what might be possible together.
And because leadership is demanding work, we also want this evening to feel like a chance to pause, reconnect and fill your own cup. Come ready to enjoy good food, thoughtful conversation and a room full of people who care deeply about Kansas City’s children, families and communities.
