Join The Poetry Club 2026 Slam & Open Mic Experience! Represent Your City!

This event brings together Poets and Spoken Word lovers for a fun, creative, and inspiring evening. Whether you're rocking the open mic, competing in the slam or just soaking in the good vibes, it's all about sharing stories and good times with dancing intermnissions by Legendart: DJ BabyJ!! This year we will be rocking White Outfits! (shirt or full attire recommended).

Below youll find all the information you need to know about this epic event!

Guidelines for Open Mic:

• Sign up list will be available at 4:30pm
• Open mic starts at 5:00pm sharp.
• 1 Poem, 2-3 minutes long. (5min on stage)
• Spots are limited only the first 10 tkt purchases
• If you dont arrive on time for sign up your spot will be given to somone on the waiting list.

Guidelines for Slam:

12 Slammers will compete for cash prizes and awards. The Slam will start between 7:00 -7:30pm.

Cash Prizes:

1st Place - $300

2nd Place - $150

3rd Place - $100

4th Place - $50

Payments will be sent vía PayPal and each participant must have it available in the event they are one of the winners.

Round 1:

• Each Poet has a time limite of 3 minutes and 15 seconds of grace to perform 1 poem.
• If the poet goes over time, .5 points will be deducted from the total score of the performance.
• Poem’s must be original works.
• No profanity, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, bullying or racial slurs.
• No costumes, props or instruments
• The poet receives scores out of 10 from five selected judges. The high and low scores are dropped and the middle three are added together.

Round 2:

• Only 6 Poets will advance to Round 2.
• Time limit of 4 minutes on stage.
• 4 Poets will place.
• In the event of a tie, the top two poets face off in a final round.

We encourage our slammers to chose poems they can memorize and help them focus on their overall performance connecting with the judges and the audience.
