This talk by Professor Alister McGrath will focus on the importance of stories in remembering, understanding and living out the Christian faith. The lecture will begin by considering why stories play such an important role in culture, helping us to remember and understand events of importance before moving on to consider the Christian story and focussing on its powerful appeal to the imagination. The evening will conclude with an opportunity to explore our own stories, and discover how these are given a new sense of purpose and meaning in the light of the Christian story.
