The Place of Knowledge Production: Situating Academic Research in the Twin Cities and Minnesota

Place matters for higher education institutions. This is the first workshop of a four-part series on the importance of understanding a place’s history, its people, and the land on which research transpires. Participants will gain insights from Dr. Kirsten Delegard, Project Director for Mapping Prejudice, on how the University has impacted surrounding communities and environment. Through this presentation, participants will also have opportunities to learn more about UROC as the University’s intentional commitment to foster academic-community partnerships that co-create a more equitable and just future. While this workshop is open to all, it is recommended for faculty and staff who are new to the University and/or interested in community engaged research.

Refreshments and light snacks provided. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested.
