About this Event

Join us in person for an exciting event all about innovation and income diversification! Discover fresh ideas and practical tips to take your projects to the next level, moving beyond just grants. It's the perfect chance to connect, learn, and shake things up. Don't miss out on exploring new ways to fuel your success!

Through guided discussion, real-world examples, and practical exercises, participants will explore a range of income models and consider how different approaches align with their purpose, values, and capacity. The workshop will help organisations identify potential risks and opportunities, assess their readiness for income diversification, and reflect on the implications for governance, delivery, and impact.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with increased confidence and a set of practical next steps to help them test, develop, or strengthen sustainable income approaches appropriate to their organisation’s stage and ambition.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the changing funding landscape, including the shift from grant dependency towards trading, contracts, and commissioning, and what this means for voluntary organisations and social enterprises
  • Identify and compare a range of income models, such as trading, service contracts, commissioning, social investment, and blended income approaches.
  • Assess the implications of different income streams for organisational mission, values, governance, and delivery, including potential mission drift.
  • Analyse risks and opportunities associated with diversifying income, including financial, operational, and reputational considerations.
  • Evaluate their organisation’s readiness for income diversification, considering skills, capacity, systems, and market position.
  • Develop practical next steps, including priority actions to test, pilot, or strengthen sustainable income streams appropriate to their organisation.

For any accessibility requirements, please get in touch with the facilitator Paul Steele via email on [email protected].
