Phil Lo Presti, Jr. - Vocals. Phil Lo Presti, Jr. was born in Brooklyn, New York, and at the age of five years old started his musical career at family weddings and parties. He attended Berkeley school of music in Boston, Mass. where he honed is vocal and instrumental chops as an accomplished Jazz vocalist and guitarist.
Phil’s approach to vocals is very much influenced by the traditional phrasings styles of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Big Band singers of the 40s, 50s and 60s. He has the uncanny ability to nail the sound of this past generation of singers while still maintaining his own style and approach to singing the Jazz and Big Band Standards.
Phil has written over 50 songs and displays his own unique and distinct voice of today’s pop music with the clarity and style of very few pop artist. Phil has opened for such acts as Sam Butera & The Witnesses, Michael Amante, and Paul Anka at Foxwoods. Phil has also appeared with the Waterbury symphony, The Jerry Lewis Telethon at Foxwoods Casino, Caesar’s Palace, Claridge Hotel and Casino, Trump Castle in Atlantic City, The University Club, The Rainbow Room, and The American Yacht Club to name a few.
Bill Crow - Bassist During a long career as a bassist, Bill Crow has played with the big bands of Claude Thornhill, Ralph Flanagan, Louis Bellson, Gerry Mulligan, Benny Goodman, and even one concert with Duke Ellington. He was featured with many small jazz groups including the Stan Getz Quintet, the Terry Gibbs Quartet, the Marian McPartland Trio, the Gerry Mulligan Sextet and Quartets, the Ruby Braff Quintet, the Eddie Condon House Band, the Marty Napoleon Trio and Quartet, the Gene DiNovi Trio, Jay, and Kai, the Al Cohn and Zoot Sims Quintet, the Bob Brookmeyer and Clark Terry Quintet, the Walter Norris Trio, the Carmen Leggio Quartet, and several small groups of his own. Crow also played many Broadway shows, doubling on bass and tuba, including the long runs "The King and I" and "42nd Street." He is currently a freelancer in the New York area jazz field. He is also the author of two books on jazz, “Jazz Anecdotes” and “From Birdland to Broadway,” both published by Oxford University Press.
Joe McWilliams - Piano. Joe McWilliams got his start as a professional pianist in the late 1970s, first performing in his mother's trio and later as a solo pianist at the world famous River Café in Brooklyn and at Greene Street in Soho. Trained classically by Ray Therrien and in Jazz by John Mehegan, Joe spent much of the '80s performing in New York and New Haven. Joe has played in 30 countries and has opened for Dave Brubeck, Cab Calloway, The Yellowjackets and many others. Among the many artists he has played/recorded with are Dickey Myers, Sonny Costanzo, Houston Person, Dee Daniels, Cookie Thomas, The Convertibles, the Marcels, Walt Andrus, Mark Preston, Lisa Donovan, Carmine Leggio, Eddie Bert, Brian Torff and Mike Rabinowitz.
Roger Post: Drummer, Band Leader Roger is a highly sought-after drummer/percussionist whose 52 years of experience have encompassed an incredible variety of styles and music. Big bands: New Haven Jazz Orchestra, Harold Zinno Big Band, Hartford Jazz Orchestra, Berkshire Big Band, Sonny Carroll Orchestra, Fairfield Counts, Rob Zappulla Orchestra, Bensen/Scott Big Band. Jazz Concerts with Bill Watrous, Marvin Stamm, Marshall McDonald, Houston Person, Bill Crow Broadway: 42nd St. (original), Ain’t Misbehavin’ (revival w/original cast), Cats, Saturday Night Fever, Falsettos, and Godspell revival.
We're sorry, there are no refunds after tickets have been purchased. In the event of a pandemic, rain, snow, or other forms of weather which prohibit a performance, the performance date will be postponed and rescheduled for another date within a reasonable amount of time. If the new date is postponed, a future alternate date will be picked at the discretion of Bethel Jazz and the musical artist. The ticket holder will be notified of postponements, cancelations, and rescheduled dates via email. Tickets are non-refundable and may be transferred to another person in the event a purchaser can not make the rescheduled date. In the event, an artist cancels a date, and Bethel Jazz is unable to reschedule the artist, Bethel Jazz reserves the right to provide a substitute performer of equal quality without notice to the ticket purchaser. If a date is canceled and not rescheduled, Bethel Jazz will provide a refund (in some cases minus the Eventbrite fee) or credit for another performance at the choice of the ticket holder. Bethel Jazz will always do its best to accommodate for changes in seating, table sizes, or changes to tickets.
