The People’s Potluck will be held on December 13th from 1 PM to 4 PM! Location: To be announced.
People all over Detroit are struggling right now, and the need for us to come together, to gather, organize, and share a hot meal has never been greater. The Riverwise Collective has partnered with Y-VAC (Young Voices Action Collective), BYP100, and the Grand River Community Block Club to bring you The People’s Potluck!
Everyone is welcome. Bring a hot dish if you can (not required to attend!) and enjoy a warm meal with community. There will be poetry, political discussions, music, and an open mic. If you’d like to share your gifts or talents, please let us know. We’ll also have a table with shelf-stable food for folks to contribute to and take home, so bring a reusable grocery bag! Depending on donations, we’ll also have gently used or new coats, new socks, and gloves available.
We will have Riverwise Magazines and other social justice publications and zines for you to take home!
If you’d like to drop off shelf-stable food, gently used or new coats, socks, or gloves ahead of time, starting December 1st, drop-off boxes will be set up throughout the city. Each box will be clearly labeled for canned goods, coats, gloves, socks, and dry goods.
