WHAT TO EXPECT:
The People’s Blockade 2024 will be a mass mobilisation of game-changing peaceful action for a climate revolution.
Workshops, grassroots democracy, a huge "protestival" with live music, DJs & floating dance parties. Skilling up and planning to build the power of our climate defence movement.
Thousands of people will take to the water to stop coal exports for 50 hours, including two full nights! You can borrow one of our kayaks, or bring your own vessel – a kayak, tinny, yacht or surfboard!

WHY JOIN THIS PROTEST?
Time is running out. We are hurtling towards catastrophic climate collapse. The ALP government continues to approve new coal and gas projects, pouring fuel on the climate fire.
We need a peaceful citizen’s movement of unprecedented scale to break the fossil fuel industry’s stranglehold over our democracy.
BACKGROUND
Last November, 3,000 people joined the 2023 People’s Blockade and successfully stopped coal ships in a 32 hour flotilla blockade.
It was fun, joyous and beautiful.
And when 109 people chose to take further action and be arrested, they made global headlines demanding an end to new fossil fuels and transition funding for workers and communities.
The People's Blockade 2023 was the spark. 2024 will be the big bang.
