In our inaugural concerts returning to live performance, follow The Paris Quartet—an ensemble of Bay Area luminaries with reputations far beyond—as they demonstrate the blossoming of the trio into the quartet, with one or two voices multiplying into four separate and distinct lines, with each instrument having its own unique part to play. The concert will feature trios and quartets of all kinds by these four composers, starting with trios by Bach, moving on to trios with four voices by Telemann and Couperin, one of Rameau’s Pièces de clavecin, and culminating with—what else?—one of Telemann’s grand “Paris Quartets,” with four voices played on four instruments. Please note that we will follow all state and local COVID-19 requirements.
