ABOUT
A story that follows Xochi, a Customs and Border Protection Officer in Mictlán, the realm of the dead. She assesses the souls upon their arrival to ensure they are prepared for their afterlife, without making any exceptions.
One day, absorbed and numbed in her routine, she encounters an unexpected soul that awakens feelings she believed were buried.
An original piece inspired by Mexican celebration “Day of the Dead”, written by Anylú Aguilar and directed by Simina Ellis. It invites us to reflect on the search for meaning while grieving.
⚠️ Content Warning: Loud locomotive and train whistle sounds, references to suicide, references to violence, gunshot sound and use of smoke machine.
