The Other is a collaborative music and visual art project featuring musicians from Scotland, Iran, Brazil and Chile, and visuals artists from Yemen and Syria. The collective includes members with a lived experience of displacement and immigration. The band's original, collaborative compositions are formed in the fertile ground between boundaries, where diverse cultures meet in a unique fusion of Scottish folk, traditional Iranian music, South American rhythms and jazz. The show forms part of Art27 Scotland's Festival of Migration which runs from 16-18 June at the Southside Community Centre in Edinburgh. "The Festival of Migration bursts with artistic energy in multiple artforms, catalysing conversations around one of the greatest topics of our time."
