The OPS Exit 36 Qualifier Slam: Part 2

Once again, Wednesday Open Words with Orlando Poetry Slam present, The OPS Exit 36 Qualifier Slam: Part 2! In lieu of the usual open mic, poets will be allowed to compete for cash prizes and dubious glory.

Tonight is Part 2 and the thrilling conclusion, as we decide who will represent Orlando at the Exit 36 Poetry Slam in Pompano Beach, Fl.

4 poets will be competing for the coveted spot. Help us decide who will represent Orlando at this national event.

RULES

Only the top 4 poets from the previous slam qualify, or the next available poet by rank in the case of a poet dropping.

-Poems can not be repeated from the previous slam. Any repeats will result in a DQ

-3-5 random judges from the audience will score the poets from 0-10 based on content, form, originality, etc.

-You will need 4 poems to compete.

-Scoring will be cumulutive. Order will be random draw, then rotated each round. (Example. Round 1ABCD, Round 2 BCDA, Round 3 CDAB)

-Content must be original. No props, no costumes or musical accompaniment.

3:10 minute time limit, FULL POINT DEDUCTION FOR EVERY SECOND OVER.

-The poet with the highest score at the end of 3 rounds will be declared the winner.

All rules subject to adjustment based on number of competitors and available judges, however all participants will be notified of any significant changes.

There will be an open mic after for those who wish to participate but not compete.
