About this Event

FORMAT & TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE: This is a 93/94 old school Magic tournament with modern rules; except, mana burn still happens. Technically the tournament is "Swiss rounds" which scale with attendance -- but really the format is Irish-American shenanigans. There will be no cut to Top 8. We will conclude with an award ceremony for not only our champion and top finishers but also some thematic, spicy, and budget prizes.

Tournament Organizers will be on site to make judge calls. Draws are not allowed and players who go to time in a round without a winner declarable will resolve would-be draws via a Chaos Orb flip-off and a shot of Jameson. Wear green or risk getting pinched.

DECKLISTS: photos of your deck are required in lieu of decklists, and must be submitted by 11:30 AM Sunday(day of the event) to ensure legality of decks and help us determine spicy prizes. Submit via email to [email protected] ...and, if you wish to be considered for a special prize category, include that in your email title. For example, "Jimmy Cooney Leprechauns & Fairy Folk - Theme."

DECK CONSTRUCTION / CARDS ALLOWED: Deck Construction Rules and Legal Sets can be found at ...Yes, gold-bordered cards from Collector's Edition, International Edition, retro-frame M30, and Pro Tour decks are legal, as are non-foil reprints with the original frame and art that was originally featured in a 1993 or 1994 set. Artist Proofs are welcome. Proxies, counterfeits, and playtest cards are not allowed. "Champion / Prize" Power (from previous events hosted by the Dice City Derelors or NAOS are allowed.)

PRE-REGISTRATION: Registering thru Eventbrite is required to guarantee a seat for this event. The entry fee of $45 + whatever processing fees Eventbrite charges will be used to support the cover venue reservation costs, food, special guests, staff/overhead and unique pool of prizes and Old School swag. The entry fee is non-refundable.

THE VENUE, FOOD, AND DRINK: The Fleádh will be held at Kelly's Oyster House and Bar. Kelly's is located in the historic Barbour House, a turn of the century mansion in the heart of Old Town Fairfax, steeped with early American and Civil War History.

Your entry fee will cover food. You will be able to purchase drinks at the bar during the event. There is plenty of parking behind the resturant as well as the lot that backs up to the resturant which is a bank and closed on sunday so it is all FREE TO PARK.

SPECIAL GUEST : The one and only artist behind Order of Leitbur, Pendelhaven, Urborg, Hammerheim, Force Spike, Angus MacKenzie, Living Plane and the Druid Avatar from Sorcery Contested Realm --

SOCIAL MEDIA: post about it on discord or in the facebook group!
