About this Event
THE ODYSSEY
adapted by Charlie Bethel, read by John Heimbuch
John Heimbuch returns to Plays and Players following the Philly Fringe successes of Gilgamesh and Beowulf with Charlie Bethel’s one person version of The Odyssey.
Odysseus has been at war for ten years, and he longs to see his wife and son, but Poseidon has other ideas. Another ten years of adventure and calamity await before he finally reaches home ... where even more troubles are brewing.
An ancient tale filled with daring escapes, tragic deaths, deceit, betrayal, gods and goddesses, ghosts and monsters, nymphs and sorceresses, and a host of angry suitors.
John has been performing Charlie Bethel's Beowulf and Gilgamesh around the country since 2019. This is his second public reading of The Odyssey.
95 minutes, one intermission.
