The Nonprofit Finance Leadership Retreat is a two-day working retreat for nonprofit finance leaders who want to step away from the day-to-day and take a serious look at how their finance function actually operates.
This is not a conference and it is not two days of presentations.
Participants will work directly on their own organization — examining the roles, responsibilities, authority, knowledge, capacity, systems, and accountability behind the finance function and identifying where work is duplicated, falling through the cracks, sitting at the wrong level, or assigned without the authority or expertise needed to own it.
Every participating organization will leave with a High-Functioning Finance Department Blueprint, including:
• Finance Department Health Score
• Role Clarity Index
• Current-state finance structure analysis
• Finance work inventory
• Role ownership map
• Duplication and gap analysis
• Capacity analysis
• Knowledge and capability analysis
• Decision-authority map
• Future-state finance organizational structure
• Core process ownership map
• 90-day implementation roadmap
• CEO/Board-ready executive summary
Before arriving in Denver, each organization will also complete the Finance Department Diagnostic and Role Clarity Module, allowing us to spend the retreat working on analysis, decisions, and redesign rather than gathering basic information.
Who should attend
Nonprofit CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and other senior nonprofit finance leaders.
CEOs and Executive Directors may also attend with their finance leader when organizational structure, staffing, authority, and executive-level decisions are part of the work.
