The Nightlight is excited to host a FREE outdoor showing of the beloved film Matilda at TrueNorth on Saturday, September 21st, as part of our Cinema in the City series. This delightful 1996 classic is fun for the whole family, filled with laughter, mischief, and a sprinkle of magic. It's an evening you won't want to miss!The film will be shown on our large outdoor screen nestled between Curated Storefront's Outside the Box Gallery, a series of upcycled shipping containers in the Northside District transformed into mobile art galleries with murals by artists from around the world. Bring seating and dress warm. Order carryout from Jilly's Music Room's fully gluten-free menu. This location is in the DORA footprint.

About the film: This film adaptation of a Roald Dahl work tells the story of Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson), a gifted girl forced to put up with a crude, distant father (Danny DeVito) and mother (Rhea Perlman). Worse, Agatha Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), the evil principal at Matilda's school, is a terrifyingly strict bully. However, when Matilda realizes she has the power of telekinesis, she begins to defend her friends from Trunchbull's wrath and fight back against her unkind parents.
