The Night Comes Darkly: a Horror Film Series by Indie Black Filmmakers with Laura Fielder


An evening of horror film shorts by Independent Black Filmmakers. Each filmmaker brings their vision of horror from their unique cultural and individual perspectives. Their films looks at horror in its frightening glory.


Laura Fielder is an award winning New York City based screenwriter and director. She made her directing debut with Milan’s First Day (2015). Her most recent recent short film The Company You Keep (2019), is a psychological thriller. Laura’s films were screen in such festivals as The Toronto Black Film Festival, The Hip Hop Film Festival, The Baltimore International Film Festival and The Katra Film Series. As a screenwriter, her scripts placed in such competitions as the International Horror Hotel, Big Apple Film Festival and Screenplay and Competition and Hollywood Horrorfest.


Laura is one of the founding members of 501c3 organization The Black TV & Film Collective. This non profit collective serves as a development hub for Black and African descent artists wishing to create financially sustainable careers in the fields of film, television, and digital entertainment. Laura also serves as a board member.
