How can transport and biodiversity goals reinforce each other—before 2030 and beyond? Join us to shape the next generation of infrastructure
About this Event

SDG 9 on building resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation is under in-depth review at the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2026. WWF, the International Road Federation (IRF), and the SLOCAT Partnership on Sustainable, Low-Carbon Transport are hosting a hybrid side event to examine how progress on transportation and biodiversity goals can be accelerated in tandem—and how the post-2030 framework can be designed to evaluate these agendas together from the start.

Speakers from across the transportation, conservation, finance, and policy communities will discuss where these priorities already reinforce each other. Then participants will break into facilitated working groups to develop two sets of draft recommendations: one focused on accelerating delivery before 2030 and another on integrated goal design beyond it.

This event is part of an ongoing program of work supported by the Global Environment Facility-funded Greening Transportation Infrastructure Development (GRID) integrated program.
