The Next Era in Non-Factor Therapy for Hemophilia
About this Event
Time
7:20 am–7:35 am Breakfast & Registration
7:35 am–8:50 am Symposium Presentation
Overview
Hemophilia care continues to evolve with the emergence of new therapies that offer transformative alternatives to traditional treatment approaches. This activity focuses on the latest clinical evidence surrounding FVIIIa mimetic therapies, including mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, dosing strategies, and their practical implications in patient care. Data from pivotal trials will be examined, along with guidance for incorporating these agents into everyday clinical practice. Through interactive, case-based scenarios, learners will develop a deeper understanding of patient selection, treatment sequencing, and individualized management strategies equipping clinicians with the tools needed to optimize outcomes in hemophilia care.
Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for pediatric and adult hematologists, hematologists/oncologists, hematology and hematology/oncology APPs, and other HCPs involved in the management of people living with hemophilia
Educational Objectives
- Describe structural and pharmacokinetic (PK)/pharmacodynamic (PD) distinctions, and the related impact on dosing, between available and emerging FVIIIa mimetics
- Assess efficacy and safety evidence on emerging FVIIIa mimetics as prophylaxis across varying hemophilia patient populations
- Develop treatment plans with people living with hemophilia A (PLwHA) that incorporate FVIIIa mimetic therapies, considering initiation, switching, and monitoring protocols
- Recognize strategies that align with shared decision making (SDM) principles to engage PLwH in individualized goal setting, treatment selection, and long-term adherence and compliance
