Real stories about starting over
About this Event

Logen Lanka led lifecycle marketing for a $1.2 billion tech company across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

On paper, he was doing everything right. Senior. Ambitious. Successful.

He was also up until 4 AM regularly. Not because he loved the work. Because work was the only place he felt competent and in control.

Then came the move to Canada. An MBA at the University of Alberta. An adult ADHD diagnosis. And a decision to build his own B2B consultancy instead of rebuilding the old career here. Each one forced him to question assumptions he didn’t know he was carrying.

What this conversation is about

The topic is permission. Specifically, giving yourself permission to walk away from a path that used to define what success meant to you.

Changing the plan isn’t failure. It sometimes takes more courage to question what you’re supposed to want than to keep chasing it. That’s what Logen sits down to talk about.

He’ll open with the contradiction. Ambitious, senior, successful, and up at 4 AM for reasons he didn’t understand at the time. Then walk through what it actually took to change direction, one assumption at a time.

You’ll leave with

• The reminder that changing the plan isn’t failure

• One area you’ve been waiting for permission to change or admit isn’t working

• One small action you’d normally talk yourself out of

• New connections in a room that understands

• Renewed confidence that your story isn’t over yet

How the evening runs

You’ll be welcomed into a relaxed atmosphere with refreshments and a chance to meet people before we begin. Logen sits down with your hosts, Nomsa and Daniel Maromo, for a casual off-the-cuff interview designed to draw out the real story. The decisions. The tradeoffs. The moments things shifted.

Then time for reflection, audience Q&A, and connection with others in the room. No lecture. No slide deck. Just storytelling.

About Logen Lanka

Logen Lanka led lifecycle marketing across the Asia-Pacific region for a global technology company generating approximately $1.2 billion in annual revenue, spanning Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Who this is for

Anyone quietly wondering if the path they’re on is still the one they want. First-generation Canadian immigrants who arrived with a plan that’s starting to feel like it belongs to someone else. Professionals in career pivots. Founders wondering if the thing they’re building is worth the version of themselves it costs. Anyone waiting for permission to change direction.

About Next Chapter

Next Chapter is a Edmonton event series for people navigating big life transitions. Hosted by Nomsa and Daniel Maromo, first-generation Canadian immigrants who arrived expecting their credentials to matter and found out otherwise. They built this room to hold the conversation they wished had existed when they were figuring it out.

Where you are today doesn’t have to determine where you’ll be tomorrow.
