This little stretch of “Sweet Virginia” — harmonica solo into the last chorus, totally unplugged on a Buchanan sidewalk — pretty much captures the feeling we’re hoping for next Saturday at River St. Joe’s Harvest Fest.
It’s shaping up to be one of those nearly perfect October weekends in Southwest Michigan: sunshine, a forecast high around 76°, and the first hints of fall color just beginning to show. The leaves are running late this year, so we may not have peak color yet — but we could very well be getting one of the last truly beautiful outdoor weekends of the season.
And River St. Joe is about as good a place as there is to spend it.
