About this Event
Are you a newcomer youth looking for opportunities to grow your leadership and confidence skills with peers and professionals? Register for the NYLP today!
The NYLP is a free, hybrid, 7-week leadership training program for newcomer youth in Toronto. The program connects newcomer youth to information, resources, and networks, helps with transitions into a new community, and prepares participants for a Leadership Placement in one of three positions: Professional Mentorship, the Youth Advisory Committee, or a volunteer/employment position externally.
How does it work?
Over the course of 7 weeks, participants will attend weekly "core" sessions every Tuesday evening, as well as a minimum of 5 out of 11 "choice" sessions every Thursday evening. We will meet twice a week, for 3-4 hours each (6-8 hours weekly). The program start date is July 2nd, 2024, and end date is August 15th, 2024.
