The new Ofsted framework: a free briefing for education professionals
About this Event
Get the lowdown on the new Ofsted inspection framework with this face-to-face briefing for teachers, educational leaders and school improvement professionals. Dr Tony Breslin, Honorary Professor of Education in the Centre for Teachers and Teaching Research at UCL, will outline the new inspection framework, explore its objectives and summarise how it has been delivered and experienced in schools since its launch in November 2025.
Co-author of the current NEU members' guidance designed to support education professionals as they navigate the framework, and experienced in supporting schools as they prepare for inspection, Professor Breslin will outline the thinking behind the changes and how those in schools might effectively respond to them, especially in light of the stated focus on inclusion and wellbeing, the shift away from single phrase judgements and towards ‘spikey’ profiles, and the range of other challenges that schools are seeking to address on the ground.
Our room has a capacity of 30 and this session was fully booked when last offered in Spring 2026, while a recent online event addressing the new framework, led by Dr Breslin and hosted by the National Education Union, attracted over 250 participants, so book now to avoid disappointment!
Don’t miss out on this chance to understand the changes, ask questions, and connect face-to-face at an event that is designed to enable all to contribute.
