Join us for the closing reception of The New: Now III supporting local artists and celebrating the talent we have right here in our community! The New: Now III is a partnership between the Norris Community Center and United Arts Collier (UAC). The exhibition celebrates the talent, fresh perspectives of UAC Member Artists. Conceived as a showcase for recent work, this exhibition highlights outstanding two-dimensional art selected from a UAC-organized call to artists. The program offers local artists the valuable opportunity to exhibit their work in beautiful, historic downtown Naples, Florida. This third iteration of UAC's New: Now series proudly features the work of exhibiting artist Megan Hoolihan Dalziel, winner of this cycle’s exhibition prize.

Megan Hoolihan Dalziel - This evolving body of work is a tribute to the unique beauty of the place I’ve called home my entire life. Florida is often celebrated for its white sand beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and vibrant tropical foliage—but through my art, I aim to look deeper. I use my work as a lens to explore lesser-known perspectives that are just as compelling as the familiar postcard views.
Some pieces focus on wildlife not typically associated with Florida—like humpback whales and great white sharks—that naturally find their way here on occasion, highlighting the remarkable range and complexity of the ecosystems that touch our coastal waters. I also incorporate surrealist elements to reflect the state’s inherent contradictions and the sense of mystery that pervades its landscapes.
Florida is not just sand and sunsets. It’s sharks and swamp creatures, savage storms and sunken shipwrecks. These raw, wild edges are what captivate me most—and what continue to inspire my work.
