The New Acoustic Collective celebrates their newest album, Amor en Ritmo, with this Album Release Party at The Back Room!
About this Event

The New Acoustic Collective (The NAC) features many of the top up-and-coming jazz, bluegrass, and classical musicians in the Bay Area, combining a variety of strings, brass, and now on special occasion, vocals to bring a modern and unique sound to the New Acoustic music canon while forging their own territory and musical vision.

The NAC currently includes Jason Keiser (guitar/bandleader/primary composer), Rodrigo Ruiz (arco/pizzicato double bass) and Nathaniel Grohmann (cello/composer).

They’re excited to release their newest album - their third - Amor en Ritmo, and celebrate its’ arrival with this concert at The Back Room.

Amor en Ritmo translates directly to “Love in Rhythm,” bringing into focus the many influences that the Latin music canon had on The NAC on this new album, blending the sounds of cha cha, bolero, samba, Bossa Nova-inspired world music, SpaceGrass-Latin fusion, and beyond.

Inspired heavily by The David Grisman Quintet’s Latin-tinged 1995 record, Dawg A Nova, The Tony Rice Unit & Wyatt Rice’s original SpaceGrass work, and deep love and appreciation for a variety of jazz styles, Amor en Ritmo brings a fresh and unique spin on contemporary original Latin music, SpaceGrass, jazz, world music, and more.

The album features a number of special guests, including Circus No. 9’s mandolinist, bandleader and National Mandolin Champion Thomas Cassell; David Grisman Quintet’s bassist & bassist of Jim & Nell Band, Jim Kerwin; Acoustic Oasis recording artist & mandolinist, Mike Mullins; and vocalist, composer, arranger & producer, Melissa Garay.

For this performance, The NAC will be joined by Mike Mullins on mandolin and Melissa Garay on vocals.

Amor en Ritmo CDs will be available for purchase at this show, and the album is also available on all streaming platforms, and via digital download at The NAC’s Bandcamp page.

Tickets are $20 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
