Inspired by the adventures of Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell, and Captain Hook, the Wilmington Dance Theatre presents The Neverland Tea Fundraiser on May 18th in Downtown Wilmington. Drawing on popular motifs from the much loved novel, the afternoon tea will be a fitting tribute to the beloved fictional characters of Neverland.
In true British fashion, guests will enjoy a delicious array of teas presented by the Tea Lady, Ms Diane. They will also enjoy a sweet and savory selection of magical finger foods with a creative twist, such as the pixie dust biscuit, lost boy sandwiches, tick-tock tarts, and fresh scones! Then be entertained by the dancers of Wilmington Dance Theatre as they present a shortened performance of “Peter Pan” before its debut on the Wilson Center Stage this June 8th. Tea party guests will also have the opportunity to take photos with the Neverland characters during a meet and greet! Specialized raffles from donors and local businesses will also be available.
“But you never exactly knew whether there would be a real meal or just a make believe, it all depended upon Peter's whim.” - from Peter Pan and Wendy from JM Barrie
All proceeds from the tea will fund the 501-c3 non profit Wilmington Dance Theater in the all new production of “Peter Pan” at the Wilson Center on June 8th. Tickets for that event can be bought on the Wilson Center website directly. Seats are $40. Everyone aged 3 years+ must have a ticket for entry.
