About this Event
The Nautical Institute Ireland Branch is delighted to invite members and maritime professionals to a unique opportunity to visit the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College's training vessel, EMPIRE STATE VII, during her visit to Belfast.
This special event will include a guided tour of the vessel, providing attendees with an insight into one of the world's most modern maritime training platforms, followed by a networking reception with members of the maritime community.
Guests will also hear from:
- Captain Chris O'Flaherty AFNI, Lead Delegate of The Nautical Institute at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Senior Technical Adviser, who will provide insights into The Nautical Institute's engagement at the IMO and current developments affecting the global maritime sector.
- Captain Ann Pletschke CMMar CMarTech FNI, Project Manager of the STEER Project (Seafarer Technology Engagement, Empowerment and Resilience), who will discuss the project’s work examining the impact of emerging technologies and evolving working practices on seafarers and maritime safety.
