Not only a credo but also their driving manifesto, Brooklyn synthpop
outfit The Mystic Underground exists to prove that electronic music can
be thought-provoking, immensely compelling, and seductively
danceable, thus creating an intoxicating sound.
Inheriting a love of classic alternative bands such as the Smiths,
David Bowie and New Order fused with a love of Britpop, dance and
industrial, The Mystic Underground are quite the eclectic duo
comprised of singer/songwriter Vladimir Valette and
keyboardist/producer Benedetto Socci. Finding the way in the early
days of the last decade, the band would soon forge their identity in the
international synthpop community at large beginning with 2016’s
Protagonist LP and followed up with 2020's critically acclaimed
Wrapped In Riddles features the club/college radio hit single The
Fixer. The band sought to capitalize on the latter's momentum as the
new wave/synthpop resurgence began in earnest as the pandemic
began to wane, and the anticipation of dancing with reckless abandon
returned.
2023 finds the band pushing things a bit further with the new single
The Lonely Ones, a synthpop clarion call to the dreamer in all of us.
The track is the first single to be lifted off the band's forthcoming LP
Everyone Deserves A Stage out on the 12th of May on Re:Mission
Entertainment. All the hallmarks of the band promise to be found in
abundance inlcuding their trademark brand of sardonic wit and
passionate enveloped in captivating musical backdrops. This
promises to the band's finest work yet.
