A workshop for therapists interested in what music can bring to their practice.
The workshop will involve a combination of theoretical learning, group discussion, and musical exercises with a group improvisation. No prior musical ability is required, so whether you play music regularly or it's your first time with an instrument, the performance aspect will be easily accessible.
Limited to 12 places.
Instruments will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

This workshop will explore the significance of music-making for human being generally speaking. We will begin with evolutionary ideas on the importance of music and therole of voice for bonding and emotional expression, thinking of the relation between voice and tone, or the music of language itself. The importance of music for early attachment will be addressed. We will discuss our own musical experiences and memories.
There will be a section on neuroscience and how this can inform us about the role of music.
Another section on the history of music within psychotherapy and psychoanlaysis.
