Celebrate All Saints’ Sunday with an afternoon of Benjamin Britten's music on the 50th anniversary of his death.
About this Event

Join us on All Saints’ Sunday for an afternoon celebrating the musical works of Benjamin Britten on the 50th anniversary of his death. Guest organist Richard Gowers, Organist & Director of Music at St. George’s Hanover Square, London, joins the Cathedral Choirs and a chamber orchestra led by concertmaster Elizabeth Young, all under the baton of Maxine Thévenot.


All are invited to attend a pre-concert lecture by Professor Bruce Redford on Benjamin Britten held in Kaseman Hall at 2:00 - 2:45 PM. Limited seating is available.


Repertoire: 

Missa Brevis in D for upper voices and organ

Prelude and fugue on a theme by Vittoria - organ solo played by Richard Gowers

Te deum in C for organ, cathedral choir and soprano solo

Jubilate deo in C for organ and cathedral choir

Sinfonietta for chamber orchestra

Rejoice in the Lamb - (orchestration by Imogen Holst) chamber orchestra, organ, soloists and the Cathedral Choir.
