Anni-Frid Lyngstad used the initials of the band members’ first names to create the palindrome ABBA. Under this name, the band became a pop supergroup. Even though ABBA disbanded in 1982, the group’s music continues to live on in compilation albums, the wildly successful musical and movie Mamma Mia!, and even as a reunited group in 2016 with a new album released in 2021. But little of that history matters because ABBA’s music is what keeps toes tapping, ear worms “worming”, and karaoke machines humming. “SOS”; “I Do, I Do, I Do”; “Mamma Mia”; “Dancing Queen”; “Knowing Me, Knowing You”; “Take a Chance on Me” … see!
