Creative Greensboro and will hold auditions for Meredith Wilson’s Tony award-winning musical “The Music Man,” directed by Todd Fisher, from 7-9 pm, on Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday May 8 , at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Actors of all ages and experience levels, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or racial identity, are welcome to register for an audition. There are limited roles available ages 8-12. Actors should prepare 16 bars of a contemporary Broadway musical to sing for their audition. All actors will be asked to participate in a brief movement audition. Actors are asked not to audition with a song from “The Music Man” Rehearsals are in the evenings and on weekends as schedules permit. Performances will take place June 27-30. Not a performer but you still want to participate? Several backstage support opportunities are also available. Register to join the crew using the same online audition form.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
