About this Event
The Multi-Hyphenate Filmmaker Workshop
The Multihyphenate Filmmaker Workshop offers aspiring and emerging filmmakers a practical framework for successfully creating films while filling multiple key creative roles. Through case studies, goal-setting planning exercises, and industry insights from established multihyphenate filmmakers, participants will learn how to navigate the complex balance of wearing different hats, maintaining creative continuity, and leveraging the advantages of being a multi-hyphenate filmmaker while avoiding common pitfalls. Perfect for creators who want to take control of their filmmaking journey while understanding when and how to collaborate effectively.
Join multi-hyphenate filmmakers Timothy Mark Davis and Edson Jean, who both just premiered feature films where they served as director, writer, producer, and lead actor, for a no-BS workshop that includes an honest keynote on the mindset needed to wear multiple hats and script to screen case studies using scenes from Edson and Tim's films!
The final 30 minutes of the workshop will include a small bites and drinks networking reception on the patio.
Funding for this workshop provided by the Broward County Cultural Division.
Co-hosted by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and Savor Cinema.
