For over two decades, The Motet has been redefining the boundaries of funk music. This powerhouse six-piece thrives on collaboration, with each member bringing distinct musical strengths that elevate the group’s sound. Known for their dynamic live performances, The Motet blends elements of funk, soul, jazz, and rock into a style all their own — tight, expressive, and built on unmatched chemistry.
With a loyal national following, The Motet has sold out venues coast to coast, headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre seven times, and delivered standout sets at major festivals including Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Electric Forest, Bumbershoot, Summer Camp, and High Sierra.
Even after 20+ years on the road and in the studio, The Motet continues to evolve. The current lineup — Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Drew Sayers (keys/sax), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), and newest member Sarah Clarke (vocals) — brings fresh energy and bold creativity to the stage and studio alike.
In November 2024, they released their 11th studio album, Love Time, marking their first full-length collaboration with vocal powerhouse Sarah Clarke and signaling a vibrant new chapter in their sound.
