Join us for a beautiful evening of music with The Montvales and Emily Stewart! Music starts at 8:30 pm with Arcana's signature cocktails and tarot readings by Virginia. Donations for the performers are strongly encouraged.Sally Buice and Molly Rochelson of The Montvales cut their teeth busking on the streets of their hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee and playing short sets on various programs of their local Americana radio station, WDVX. Currently located in Cincinnati, Ohio, they spend their days crafting stripped down, banjo-and-harmony driven songs that strike just the right balance between catchy and lonesome. Their shows will take you to places both raucous and reverent, equal parts honky tonk mischief and earnest meditation on friendship, heartbreak, and place. Their debut album, Heartbreak Summer Camp, is available for streaming everywhere now.
Emily Stewart plays original tunes rooted in the folk, country, and blues traditions of the deep south. She first discovered her voice while perched in a south Alabama church pew as a child, and her vocal stylings are those of a true southern siren. Though she is now based in North Carolina, her roots as a writer also reach back to her hometown, Alabama’s literary capital, where she was raised by writers in the belly of her family’s newspaper and commissioned as a columnist before even growing tall enough to reach the employee time clock. With lyrics and melodies inspired by the strength of Odetta, the delicate twang of Kitty Wells, and the forthright softness of Loretta Lynn, Emily finds a song in every story.
