The Monday Makeshift: A Monthly Showcase of South Slope Music Talent. Hosted By Jeff Yas & Christy Hall. May 1, 2023, from 8:00-10:00 pm at Young Ethel's. Free show. This Month LAS MELINAS returns to our stage! They are: Lina Silva (Vocals, percussion, ukulele), Melissa Bijur (Vocals, cajón peruano, stylophone), and Lina Villegas (Vocals, guitar)—three Colombian women living in Brooklyn who came together through motherhood and friendship." Their original songs are distilled from the diverse music that they love, including Andean music, music from the Colombian coasts, Brazilian music (Bossa Nova and MPB), Rock and pop in Spanish and English, and Classical. @turnpike718
