On June 22nd during MLK Jettie Rhodes Day, the Sigma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in partnership with the Champaign Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Jettie Rhodes Neighborhood Day Committee, and ImpactLife will be hosting the MLK Jettie Rhodes Memorial Blood Drive. In commemoration of National Men’s Health Month and World Sickle Cell Day, we wish to invite our community members out to donate blood at the MLK Jettie Rhodes Day Celebration. The purpose of the Blood Drive is: 1) to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation. Each unit can help save a life; 2) to support/celebrate National Men’s Health Month and World Sickle Cell Day (6/19) by focusing on the specific needs, to increase the number of African American male donors for Sickle Cell patients, and 3) to commemorate the lives and work of Jettie Rhodes in honor of her legacy of exemplary service in the CU community!
